How to rename devices on the Plume Home app

Devices can be renamed in the Plume Home app for easier identification.  This can be done from the Network page or from any place the device details can be viewed.

1. Select the Device tab on the Network page. 

   Selecting Devices will show all devices on the network.  However, any place device details can be selected from will work (e.g. from a person profile).

2. Tap on a device in the list to open the device details.
3. Tap on the menu button in the top right corner of the details screen.  It will remain at the top of the screen when scrolling down.
4. Select Edit device name. This option should appear at the bottom of the menu, regardless of the online state.
5. Change the device's name. Ex. Sam's iPhone
6. The Save button will not be highlighted until a change has been made.  Tap the Save button to apply the changes.  Tap the X in the top right corner of the screen to cancel.

A confirmation that the device's name has been updated will appear at the top of the screen.

Devices will display the hostname stored on the device when first connected.  Changing the name can make it easier to identify the device.
