How do I create user Profiles?

 

People profiles allow you to conveniently monitor and manage WiFi access for each person on the network.

During the initial setup, a profile is created automatically using the information provided during account creation. Additional people profiles allow you to quickly set Content Access, security settings, schedule Focus, or enable a quick Time out to all devices assigned to a person. You can also share access to the Plume Home app with the additional people added to the network.  

Devices that are not assigned to an individual person remain will remain unassigned.

Adding a Person

  1. From the Profiles page, tap on the + button. 
  2. Choose the Person option. 
  3. Add a photo using the camera icon, enter the person's first name and last name.
  4. Personalize their access on the Personalize protection section. This allows you to control Content access as well as their security settings for all their assigned devices while they are connected to the network. 
    1. Clicking on the icon provides more information on each content access setting.
  5. To give the user access to the Plume Home app, toggle on Invite to the Plume Home app
    1. Type in the person's email address. They will receive a link in their email to download the app.
    2. Choose their access settings for the Plume Home app
  6. Tap on the Add button.
  7. Then assign their devices to their profile by swiping through the list of devices at the top. The devices you select will apply the rules set in the previous step to those devices and allow you to monitor and manage the person's Internet usage.
    1. To assign a device to the profile, simply swipe to the correct device and tap on the Assign  button
  8. Once all devices have been selected and you tap on Done, you will be prompted to assign a Primary device, which is used to determine if they are home. Be sure to choose a device that they will always take with them.  
  9. Tap on Done once a primary device is chosen.  

Please note that creating a person using the steps above does not give them the ability to manage the network. 

Removing a Person

  1. From the Profiles page, swipe to navigate to the profile you want to remove.
  2. Click on the pencil icon on their profile picture.
  3. Tap on Remove person which will remove the profile and historical data consumption information for that person.  All previously assigned devices for that person will now be unassigned.

Note: This does not disable their access to the WiFi if they still have the password.
